We were assigned to the Geraldton Branch.  On Saturday we left for our new location at 1/54 Eastward in Rangeway.  The Lanes were moving out when we arrived.  They had been here for 5 months and were sad to leave.  They stayed at the Branch President's home that night and we moved into our new flat.

While we were in Perth we met all but one of the senior couples in our mission.  We had pizza with them at the Innis's flat.  They are the Ashbys serving in Albany, the Innises and Marsdens serving at the mission office and the Lanes who were in Geraldton before we came and then assigned to Esperance,
Here we are after a nights sleep and shower meeting with President and Sister Smibert at the Mission Office in Perth. The office is next door to the Perth Temple. The Smiberts arrived in the mission the day before us and came to replace the Cahoons who had to return home to Canada for an operation on Sister Cahoon. President Smibert will be here until July 2012 when they call a permanent replacement for him.

We left Salt Lake City on December 26, 2011 at 5 pm. We traveled from Salt Lake to Los Angeles and then boarded a Quantas Airline Airbus A380-800 for the 14 and 1/2 hour flight to Sydney Australia. The flight was mostly in the dark and we arrived in Sydney at 8 AM on Wednesday December 28th.We lost a day there somewhere. This picture is looking out our window as we where decending into Sydney. We boarded another flight from Sydney to Perth which required another 4.5 hours of flying.

We did get to return home for the 24th and 25th, Christmas eve and day. It was so good to spend that time with our family. Some couples chose to stay at the MTC for the weekend, but we chose to be home.

This is our District at the MTC. The young buck at the left is our trainer. Couples from left to right are going to ElPaso Texas, Perth Australia, Jamica, Peru, and England. Just about everywhere
We were in the MTC with Elder Tom and Pat Reading who is my first cousin. Our mothers are sisters. They are going to Armenia on a CES mission. We entered the MTC on December 19, 2011 and completed our training there on December 23, 2011. I guess we were trained, sometimes I would wonder about that after we arrived in our assigned area and started this missionary work.
